CLOSED ON FRIDAY 29th APRIL 2011 to commemorate Mandy Howells' 50th birthday.

This campaign was in memory of a phenomenal role model, Mandy Howells. Sadly, Mandy passed away from complications on Tuesday 11th January 2011, having received a successful stem cell transplant through the African Caribbean LeukaemiaTrust (ACLT). She would have wanted to keep raising as much as possible for cancer-related charities through the kindness of the many who knew her or wished to support her causes. Her funeral took place on Thursday 27th January 2011 in Charlton, London with the founders of the ACLT in attendance. Today charity is in crisis but has identified many vital bone marrow and blood donors for the African and Caribbean communities in the UK. "The Mandy Howells Memorial Tribute Campaign," is helping to raise much needed funds. The donations first started to respect Mandy's wish for donations instead of flowers, but has continued due to the generosity of so many of you. Please continue to support the ACLT. Mandy's own fundraising message from 2010 for her "Race to Life" fundraising campaign, conducted from her hospital bed:-

"As you know I found out in July 2009 that I have Lymphoma Cancer.

Big thanks to those of you that have already donated to Cancer Research via this page. And a big thank you to the annoymous, selfless donor that donated two bags of stem cells to me. The stem cells are settling into my body now so just another two weeks or so in Guys Hospital.

So cannot actually do the Race for Life tomorrow but I would still like to collect money for Cancer Research.  Anything from £1 upwards. Every penny helps. Please dig deep and thank you in advance for your donation.
